Lincoln's Haymarket, 8th Street

Lincoln's Haymarket, 8th Street
8th street runs through the historic Haymarket district of Lincoln. Majority of the buildings are original or renovated resulting in a rustic, modern look for the dated street.
This project has been inspired by three of my favorite shops along 8th street; Ten Thousand Villages, The Mill, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill. A hole-in-the-wall boutique, the countless hours I've spent overcaffeinated working on assignments, and the restaurant that began my sushi obsession.

Initially, the photos were going to be imported without many edits, maintaining their original street view. The sharp edges and the many different colors within the original photos were not fitting to the theme of my booklet. To solve this, I used Procreate to digitize the photos I took from the street view, creating a more dynamic layout inspired by comic books. By using Procreate I was able to enhance my color theme and eliminate the harsh edges of the rectangular photo.

Map Design
I digitized a map of 8th street to have color differentiation between the surrounding buildings. InDesign was utilized to layer the logos on the highlighted buildings and to match the type of the streets to the descriptive type on page 2.
